A few things to know before your request
Welcome to eVisitRx. A quick read so your request goes smoothly — what we can help with, how review works, and exactly what to have ready.
Is it an emergency or a new symptom?
eVisitRx handles refills and notes only — not new or worsening symptoms. Call 911 or go to the Emergency Department for chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, signs of stroke, or thoughts of self-harm. Not sure how serious your symptoms are? Try the New Brunswick symptom checker first.
How eVisitRx fits in
eVisitRx is for two things: renewing an existing prescription and getting a medical note. For anything else, your primary provider — family doctor, nurse practitioner, or NB Health Link — should be your first point of contact.
Prescription refills
Renew a medication you already take. A New Brunswick nurse practitioner reviews your request and, when appropriate, sends the refill to your pharmacy. Controlled substances aren't eligible.
Medical notes
Request a note for work or school. Where appropriate, a nurse practitioner completes it and sends it straight to you — no clinic trip.
How review works
There's no appointment to schedule and nothing to sit and wait for.
Submit your request and get on with your day. A New Brunswick nurse practitioner reviews it — usually the same day during opening hours — and we message you the result. If your request isn't a fit, we'll tell you clearly and point you to another option — your primary care provider, Tele-Care 811, your pharmacist, or an after-hours clinic.
