How Online Prescription Refills Work with eVisitRx
Renew an existing medication online, without a clinic visit. Here is exactly how an eVisitRx prescription refill works, start to finish.
Quick answer
An eVisitRx refill is a simple online request to renew a medication you already take. You share the medication and your pharmacy, a New Brunswick nurse practitioner reviews it, and if appropriate the refill is sent straight to your pharmacy. Flat $80, no appointment.
What a refill request is
A prescription refill through eVisitRx is a request to renew a medication you are already on — for example a maintenance medication for blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid, contraception, or a regular inhaler. It is not a request to start a new medication or to diagnose a new problem.
Everything happens online. You do not book an appointment or sit in a waiting room; you submit a request and a New Brunswick nurse practitioner reviews it.
The steps, start to finish
The flow is intentionally short:
- Choose Refill a prescription and tell us the medication and dose.
- Add the pharmacy you want it sent to, and confirm a few health details.
- A nurse practitioner reviews your request to make sure a refill is appropriate and safe.
- If approved, the prescription is sent electronically to your pharmacy. If it is not appropriate online, we tell you why and where to go next.
What it costs and how long it takes
A refill request is a flat $80. Most requests are reviewed the same day during opening hours. You will be told clearly if a nurse practitioner needs more information, or if your request is better handled by your regular provider.

Get care nowFrequently asked questions
Can you refill any medication?
No. We renew many common maintenance medications, but some — including controlled substances and medications that need monitoring or an exam — can't be refilled online. A nurse practitioner will tell you if yours isn't a fit.
Do you need my pharmacy?
Yes. So the refill can be sent electronically, we ask for the pharmacy name and location you'd like to use.
Is this a new prescription?
No. eVisitRx renews prescriptions you already have. It doesn't start new medications or diagnose new conditions.
